Every Indonesian mom reportedly posted her discontentment
through social media as soon as the news about Angeline went viral on
every local news channel.
It is not surprising to have this group of population to
be condemning such tragedy as their status as parent is related to the
situation and the death of Angeline emerges as a reminder for all
parents to love their children unconditionally.
Angeline was born and raised in Bali. Her body however,
will be buried at Banyuwangi, East Java as it is the location where her
real parents were born.
The local Regent of Banyuwangi, Abdullah Azwar Anas was
confounded by the news of her death and decided to facilitate and handle
all the preparations needed for Angeline's funeral.
He even took the time to pay a visitation to Forensic
Installation at Sanglah hospital in Bali in trying to take her home.
Angeline's body was initially scheduled to fly back to banyuwangi today
but it has been postponed.
"We sincerely hope that Angeline's body can be returned
back home soon. It has been postponed however, because local police
still needs her biological mother to provide them with further
information", Abdullah informed, Tuesday (16/6/2015).
Apart from facilitating Angeline's funeral, Banyuwangi
government also seeks to give a scholarship to Angeline's little sister
all the way through to university level in honouring her death.
"After all legal process is done, we, Banyuwangi
government will be giving Angeline’s little sister a scholarship that
would enable them to pursue their academic ambition until university,"
Abdullah told Liputan6.com.
Eight-year-old Angeline was reportedly missing since 16
May 2015, before police finally located her deceased body buried down
0,5 metre deep in his foster mother's yard.
Angeline has spent the rest of her life with her foster mother, Margaretha Magawe and resided in Bali.
Bali Police Officer, Ronny Franky Sompie informs how the
discovery of Angeline's body was primarily due to the intensive
investigation of his team in her foster mother's home.
Police went to check every corner of the house to see
clues, and their attention immediately shifted to one corner with
reeking smell.
Her body was buried in between two banana trees planted at
the back of her yard. Police immediately carried her deceased body to
the hospital to perform an autopsy.
Angeline's foster mother refuse to make any comments about
it, and has been showing a particularly introverted gesture by not
allowing anyone to enter her home including the Indonesian Minister of
Women Empowerment and Children Protection, Yohana Yembise.
The death of Angeline is a tragedy that will never be
forgotten. As the story develops, now local police has reportedly named
Margriet Megawe, Angeline's foster mother as a suspect.
The naming of Margriet as a suspect however, is not due to
the possibility of her killing the 8 year old girl but for her blatant
negligence on the poor child.
Remarks made by her school head master and teacher already
suggest that she was largely abandoned, starved, abused and lack
motherly affection.
"Margriet, Angeline's foster mother has been named as a suspect for child abandonment," Bali Police Officer, Hery Wiyanto told Liputan6.com through short phone call on Sunday 14 June 2015.
Margriet Megawa was arrested on Sunday 14 June 2015 in a villa in Bali.
